Niasvizh castle – a historical landmark in Belarus, which is located in Niasvizh, Minsk region. For a long time since the XVI century to the XIX century it was regarded as the residence of the Princes Radziwill.
That legend is related to the owner of the castle Nikolai Sviatopolk-Mirsky. During the restoration of the castle, he ordered to cut down an old garden, and instead dig a huge pond. One man dead during harvesting, whose mother cursed all the Count’s race and that place. And soon a little Nikolai’s daughter Sonia drowned in that pond, and after a time, Nikolai himself was found dead on the shore of the pond.
Only in the 1730s Mir Castle resumed proper form with the new acquisitions: main hall, a dance hall, a portrait gallery. In 1785, the castle at Pan Kohanku was visited by King Stanislaw August, which struck down outright beauty and luxury decoration of the castle. However, after the death of Pan Kohanku and the elimination of the Rzeczpospolita the Mir castle fortress lost its importance. Soon after the death of the last heir Radziwill the castle passed to the genus Wittgenstein, but then pretty quick to Sviatopolk-Mirsky.
There is Holy Trinity Church not far from the Mir Castle in the village of Mir. It was built in the XVI century by Nikolai Radziwill Orphan. In 1705 the church became Unitarian in bazilian monastery, and since 1839 it preaches orthodoxy. In the second half of the XIX century the church was not just tolerated the external changes and now has the form of four rooms: a vestibule, belfry, a refectory, a room for prayer and an apse with vestry in the form of a semicircle.
